Mould Making

At Dicastglass we add grog to the outer layer(s) of our medium to large moulds in the process of mould making for the lost wax casting process.

We use Grog (medium grade) to strengthen moulds which have a glass weight in excess of 2kg. 

Grog is available in 1kg and 5kg bags.

Tip:  The amount of grog used in a mould mix depends on the desired strength of the mould.  This will vary from shape to shape.

Add into outer layers of mould mix.
