Testimonials From Dicastglass Clients

Here is what clients have to say about working with Di Tocker.

Margo Connell, NZ Contractors' Federation - Annual Awards, 14 August 2013

Margo Connell, NZ Contractors' Federation - Annual Awards, 14 August 2013
"The NZCF Waikato Branch commissioned Di to create an artwork for our annual Construction Awards.

Di interpreted our brief perfectly and kept us informed all through the design and casting process. We were impressed with Di’s approachable and professional manner and her wonderful eye for detail.

It was a proud moment when the award (and miniatures) was revealed to our members for the first time. “WOW” is an understatement. We now have entrants lining up for next year’s event because they want that award in their office!"

Kathryn, Auckland - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013

Kathryn, Auckland - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013 I recently attended the rubber mold-making course at Di Tocker's purpose-built studio in Ohaupo.   There were six of us on the course, and from the moment the workshop began Di made everyone feel at ease.   The process is a complex one and we most definitely needed the two-and-a-half days to complete our molds.   Di demonstrated every step and provided us with comprehensive written instructions, which will be invaluable for future reference.   The group was also small enough that Di could observe what everyone was doing and provide help to those who were having difficulty.
I have attended several courses over the years and found Di's teaching technique to be the best I have experienced.   She is not only an extremely accomplished glass artist, but she is  happy to share her knowledge and has the patience required to cope with different levels of experience.

Matthew, Tauranga - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013

Matthew, Tauranga - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013 Having just completed the Rubber Mold Making Course, I can say it was money and time well spent.  Although there is plenty of information floating out there, nothing compared to actually going hands-on in a live class, being taught by someone who has gone through all the headaches of discovery and methodology.   The rubber casting itself was well worth doing the class for, let alone the vast amount of tricks and tips Di is so willing to give.  I readily recommend the workshop as one of the most valuable investments for any artist of any skill level.   The environment was friendly and comfortable, and getting to meet other artists was a huge plus.   I enjoyed the learning experience hugely, and I look forward to doing other classes with Di in the future!

Dennis, Wellington - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013

It goes without saying that it was really fantastic and I learnt way more than I imagined I would........
As usual, I liked the pace, and knowing in advance what we were trying to achieve in a session.  Having the mind-set always helps when doing new things.......
I also really liked seeing everyone else's work.  I learn just as much by seeing other people push their ideas as I do by pushing my own......
The best thing is, my mind is once again buzzing with ideas and I cannot wait to do the next course.....
Thanks for everything Di.   You're a fantastic and patient teacher and that is perfect for me.

Judi, Auckland - Rubber Mold Making Course, February 2013

What an incredible course, my mind has been in overdrive since I got home.  I had little idea what to expect and what transpired was beyond expectation.   I am so looking forward to producing more, and in time repeating the process on another piece.
You are a great teacher, very clear and very patient.......
I enjoyed the group, especially sharing other peoples work and ideas.
Being in your studio has inspired me to sort out mine.  I picked up many ideas you have worked hard to sort out, and we get the benefit of them - thankyou for that.
This course will certainly kick-start my glass again.  I would love in time to do a course with you using Blackwood glass.

Susan and Matt, Tauranga - Autumn 2013 Techniques of Glass Casting Workshop

Susan and Matt, Tauranga - Autumn 2013 Techniques of Glass Casting Workshop Just wanted to say what an awesome time it was doing the glass class.   I could become addicted to it.   You did such a great job of teaching us.....  we are thrilled with our pieces......
We found your energy and talent very inspiring.  You did a great job of bringing us all together working well, while we still had our own aspirations - that is a great skill.  You have quite ignited us with the fascination of glass (especially the Blackwood Crystal).   We can't stop thinking of ideas, and would love to do another course.
Matt and I also very much enjoyed meeting the other class members.   I'm hooked.   Thanks again.

Larraine and Terry, Omokoroa, NZ. - Private Mosaic Commission

Larraine and Terry, Omokoroa, NZ. - Private Mosaic Commission We have had the pleasure of working with Di Tocker on a project for our home. The brief was to design and install a glass mosaic, depicting the local area (Bay of Plenty), which would produce a piece of art at the entrance to our front doors. The result has been an outstanding mosaic achieving just that. We found Di listened to the brief and approached the project with the utmost professionalism. Her eye for detail and the high standard she produced must be commended. We are very proud of the finished result and wish her well with her future endeavours
