All About Di Tocker - Glass Artist

2007 and beyond

In 2007 I began 'Chapter 2' of my career in Cast Glass and am currently working on a new body of work; The Soft Form Series through which I will explore conversations about relationships both in our environment and with each other.

Prior to 2007 my work was usually figurative and often features forms of mountain or rock. It seeks to convey introspection as a source of strength, particularly in the face of adversity. At the same time, it describes the aspirations of contentment with solitude and courage to stand up to the world's challenges.

The work also speaks of individuality, of not being afraid to choose a journey of one's own making. Sometimes it concerns how we relate to family and to the wider community, hopefully without loss of individual identity.

The mountains and rocks represent both the journeys we all face and the solid formation of the earth, which in a sense, ties us all together.
